You made it!

Blogs are typically short, easy-to-read posts about one specific subject. Bloggers gain followers by reaching out to people with interest in that subject, and many bloggers monetize their blogs by creating interesting and useful content.

You, however, will be blogging about topics you're working on in class. Each week you'll get specific instructions for what to post; however, if you'd rather take your blog in a different direction, please talk to me and make a proposal. It would be much more useful and meaningful for you to blog consistently about a topic that you might continue after you're out of this class.

Your first step in creating your blog is to name it. Please just use your first name and last initial, so it will look like this: Michelle E's Blog. Customize the themes and colors. Change fonts if you want to. It may take a while to figure out how to make it look how you want it...that's ok. You can complete the "about me" section if you'd like, but it's not necessary.

Once you have your blog set up how you would like it, leave me a comment on this page and cut and paste your blog address. Please indicate in your comment if your are AM or PM. I will then start to follow you, and then you can all begin following one another.

Your first post will just be short summary of your TED talk. You will edit the piece you turned in a few weeks ago, making it sound interesting enough that your readers will want to watch the talk. You will also link or embed the video so we can easily find it. I will help with these settings if you get stuck.

Note that you do not indent each paragraph on your blogs, but you do have to be certain there are no spelling, grammatical, or mechanical errors. HAVE SOMEONE EDIT IT TO FIND ERRORS YOU MISSED! It's very helpful to type in Word first (and save it!), then cut and paste into your blog. Trust me.
